Target of replication. The current study seeks to replicate the finding that participants high in external motivation to avoid prejudice exhibited attentional biases for Black faces when they have neutral facial expressions, but not happy facial expressions.

A priori replication criteria. A successful replication would find an attentional bias toward neutral Black faces presented at 30 ms and an attentional bias away from neutral Black faces presented for 450 ms. These biases would be eliminated when the faces display happy expressions.

Materials, Data, and Report. Study materials can be found in the materials component of this project. Raw data and the analysis script will be found in the dataset node. A preliminary report (from before data collection) is available in the files section of this node. The full report and other materials will appear in the files section of this node.

Conclusions. TBA.

  • A secondary replication conducted on the web is also in development.
